Well, not exactly the future, Surfers have been experimenting with beeswax-based formulas since the SoCal surf boom in the 1960s, before commercialization began leaning heavy on petroleum-based paraffin blends. Lax Wax is here to take the beeswax tradition and push it forward.

As surfing grows, more riders unknowingly rely on waxes based with paraffin, petroleum jelly, and other petroleum derivatives. These ingredients break down into the water, contributing to marine pollution and harming the ecosystems our sport depends on.

Lax Wax takes a different approach. Our eco surf wax is hand-poured with natural ingredients and raw beeswax from local San Diego beekeepers instead of petroleum-based paraffin, with close attention to detail to every ingredient and step to make sure no harsh fillers or mystery ingredients make in in the mix.

Meet Levi

I’m Levi, welcome to the beginning of my passion project Lax Wax.

I grew up in North County San Diego as a multi-sport athlete, always drawn to the coast. After high school, I dedicated much more of my time to surfing throughout college with the rest of the free time I had reserved for sports.

I went on to graduate from California State University San Marcos with a degree in Marketing, where I developed a passion for digital marketing and building creative projects from the ground up.

Lax Wax started as a college project, but it quickly became something much more meaningful. After dedicating a lot of time researching surfboard wax, I learned most waxes on the market are made with petroleum ingredients, harsh fillers, and mystery ingredients that end up in the ocean. With Lax Wax, I I want to give back to a sport that’s given me so many good memories by creating something genuine and authentic, offering my own hand-poured, petroleum-free eco surf wax as a more ocean-conscious alternative to mainstream surf waxes.

Lax Wax is my own way bringing something real to the community.
