Lax Wax was founded by a surfer who wanted to make eco surf wax that helps reduce the environmental footprint of traditional surf wax, so we can preserve the ocean, it’s ecosystems, and of course, keep surfing. Our surf wax candles are hand-poured with beeswax and intentionally designed with clean, eco-conscious dyes and fragrances for clean burning. We wanted to create candles with ingredients that are authentic to our hand-poured surf wax with simple and natural ingredients.
Our signature scent was made to capture the essence of our original surf wax, so you can feel and remember the vibes of your surf sessions with your Lax Wax bars from outside the break. Our candle contains notes of coconut, honey and mango scent that we call Honey Malibu to create a tropical, surf-inspired fragrance.
We chose beeswax as our candle’s core ingredient not only because it shares a main ingredient with our surf wax, but for its excellent burn characteristics as well. Beeswax’s extended burn time allows you to enjoy more hours of fragrance and ambiance from every candle, so our 4 oz vessels can pack a punch.

Our cool water surf wax is made for reliable performance in breaks known for their cooler water temps, where the harder warm water bars brittle up and softer cold water bars still mush out. This wax type is balanced to avoid slicking out in cool water while staying tacky, perfect for fall and spring sessions in SoCal as well as year-round sessions in cooler waters. Formulated for water temperatures ranging from 60°–72°F.
